3 Ways to bypass bios password (clear/remove)


In This post am going to share you, the best three way that how to bypass or clear Computer Bios Password.


3 Methods given below with step by step procedures,

• Method 1 : By Using Software
• Method 2 : By Short Circuit
• Method 3 : By Removing CMOS Battery

All the three methods mentioned above is simple to do with correct guidelines.



Method 1 - Using Software

• Download clean_password.zip file
(download link given at the end of the post)

• Extract the file. You can see 2 files and 1 folder after extracting it.


+ Ms-Dos System Files (folder 1)
+ clnpwd (file 1)
+ Hp Format tool (file 2)

• Now Run HP FORMAT TOOL in administrator.
(right click » run as » administrator)

• Plug USB pendrive and choose it

• Set FAT32 file system and tick Quick Format

• Tick Create a Dos Startup Disk

• Browse » (extracted folder) » Ms-Dos System Files (select that folder)

• Click start. It ask to format USB pendrive. Click Yes to format and flash MS-Dos Files.

• After Successful Flash, copy clnpwd file to the USB pendrive.

• All done. Now Restart your Computer.

• Press F12 in boot logo screen. Choose USB pendrive to Boot in first priority just by clicking it.

• Now MS-Dos will starts, Type clnpwd and press enter.

• Now Type 2 and press enter. It will erase super visor password.

• Reboot your system and Press boot menu bios key. In my case its F2. (Bios password cleared)

Method 2 - Short Circuit the Jumpper



Turn Back your laptop and remove some screw then remove the back cover. In Desktop, Remove the CPU cover.

• Now find RTS or RS point. Also known as CMOS Jumpper point. Short those two pin points using any metal for few seconds.

(Find CMOS Jumpper point using your Laptop or Desktop user manual)

Note : It can be situated anywhere. Usually it can be seen under the RAM.

• After few seconds of shorting, Power ON and boot into your bios menu. (Without password) 

Method 3 - Removing CMOS Battery



• CMOS - Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor. It is the main source of some power off memory. Like, date and time, cache memory and bios password.

• Remove Laptop backside or CPU cover. Find for CMOS Battery. Remove it for 15 to 20 seconds and re attach it.

• Now Restart your PC and Boot into bios menu (Password bypassed)


Note : Some CMOS batteries are pre attached. In that case, Solder the postive connection and remove it for 15 to 20 seconds and re attach it.
